The Polk County Veterans Service Office provides guidance and assistance to Veterans and their family members regarding federal and state Veteran benefit programs.

Goals & Vision

It is our goal, in partnership with the Veterans Health Administration and the National Cemetery Administration, to provide benefits and services to Veterans and their families in recognition of their service to the Nation. Our vision is to provide compassion, honesty, trust, respect, open communication and accountability in our day to day behavior.

Services

The Polk County Veterans’ Services Department provides assistance to veterans and their dependents regarding federal and state veteran benefit programs. It considers, prepares, and processes various forms relative to petition and application for various veterans’ benefits.

Services are performed independently but within the regulations and policies of the state and federal governments and under general supervision of the Board of Commissioners.
